Use your own reusable tableware to enjoy the takeaway food or drinks purchased on campus

Cutlery

Take a photo of your takeaway and the receipt of the takeaway respectively

The receipt date must be within the event period (16 Mar to 12 Apr 2026)

Terms and Conditions: 

  1. This event is for HKU students and staff only.

  2. The takeaway food/drink items must be purchased from restaurants on HKU campuses.

  3. The takeaway photo should clearly show the purchased takeaway food/drink and the reusable tableware (lunchboxes/cups for purchasing takeaways or cutlery for enjoying the takeaways).

  4. The receipt photo should clearly show the name of the purchased takeaway food/drink, the restaurant name, and the purchase date & time.

  5. The food/drink item shown in the takeaway photo must match the food/drink name shown on the receipt.

  6. If the submitted photos (the photo of the takeaway with reusable tableware and the receipt) fulfill all requirements listed in clauses 2-5 of the "Terms and Conditions", the B.Y.O. record will be considered valid and 50 GreenU Points will be credited to the GreenU account of the participant.

  7. Only one eligible B.Y.O. record per person per day will be counted. For multi submissions by the same participant in a single day, only the first valid submission will be counted. 

  8. Each participant can participate in this event repeatedly to earn up to a maximum of 3,400 GreenU Points within the event period. Repeated submission of the same takeaway photo and receipt photo is not acceptable.

  9. B.Y.O. records will be verified after each event week. GreenU Points will be credited to the GreenU accounts of participants after verification.

  10. For the “B.Y.O. Participation Grand Prize”, if B.Y.O. records are tied, the prize will be awarded to the participant who first reached that number of records during the event period based on the submission time of their records.  

  11. Winners of the “B.Y.O. Participation Grand Prize” will be notified by email separately. 

  12. Participants must ensure that they are the owners and hold the copyright of the uploaded photos. Once the photos are uploaded, participants agree and accept that the Sustainability Unit may edit, publish, display, exhibit and/or reproduce the photos in any form, without notifying or paying the participants for any copyright fee or additional consideration.

  13. In case of dispute, the decision of Sustainability Unit shall be final.
